About the event
Kim Koester is passionate about moths. they are essential to the biodiversity in our gardens, yet we have the tendency to swat and squash them. Kim would like to invite you to get a little closer to the vast kingdom of moths. I can vouch that it is a fascinating deep dive into the ancient entomology of these insects.
Kim is setting the trap on Tuesday night in Christine Garnier's semi urban garden in Grouville. she will collect it on Wednesday morning and start potting and documenting the moths. You have 2 opportunities to join Kim throughout the day (select one or both events through the booking form):
- At 1.30pm to 3pm you can discover what she found. Armed with a magnifying glass with a light, you will be drawn deeper into the fascinating world of moths. if you feel up to it you can hold one too!
- At 5pm the moths will be returned to Christine's garden where you can look at the moths in their pots and release them back into their garden habitat.
I cannot tell you how enchanting our Grouville moths are. They really do have the capacity to draw us back to nature. I am learning so much about them each time I am involved in a count. This is a highly recommended event.
